Life at B1

Training fills the week. The city fills the rest.

Cultural outings and organized activities are part of the residential program. This time outside the pitch is planned, structured, and built into the B1 schedule.

Barcelona

Barcelona.

Organized outings include visits to Port Aventura, Tibidabo, and Aqua Brava. There are also trips to watch professional sports live: La Liga, ACB basketball, Davis Cup tennis. Athletes explore neighborhoods like El Born and Gràcia. They spend time at Barceloneta beach. Day trips go to Montserrat and the Costa Daurada. Barcelona does not pause between sessions. It gives athletes a city worth being in.

Dubai

Dubai.

Outings include safari in the desert and visits to the historic souks of Old Dubai. Others go to Ski Dubai, IMG Worlds of Adventure, Aquaventure, and Dubai Parks and Resorts. Together, the organized outings cover a range most athletes have never experienced. Live international sport is part of the calendar: Dubai Tennis Championship, Meydan racing, golf. Beaches at JBR and the Palm for everything else. A city that makes every free hour count.

Safety and wellbeing.

Before you arrive.

Questions and answers.

Who is the SPRINT program for?

SPRINT is for athlete-students aged 12 to 21. It is a six-month football program, January to June, on the B1 campus in Barcelona or Dubai. It combines B1 training, official competition, academics and residence. It is designed for athletes who want to excel in their sport, their studies and their personal development.

How long does SPRINT last, and when does it start?

SPRINT lasts six months. It starts in January and ends in June, in the second half of the 2026–2027 season. During admission, B1 pre-assigns the residence and, in Barcelona, the club. It then prepares each athlete’s arrival. Physical and medical tests take place at the start of the program.

What happens at the end of SPRINT?

SPRINT ends in June. Each athlete receives an end-of-program report and recommendation. Airport transfers cover the departure, as they cover the arrival in January.

Which sport does SPRINT train?

SPRINT is a football program. Every SPRINT athlete follows the B1 methodology. That means five high-performance football sessions a week. Two strength and conditioning sessions are added each week. Positional training takes place every two weeks.

What is the difference between SPRINT in Barcelona and Dubai?

B1 training is the same on both campuses. Competition, school and residence change. In Barcelona, athletes compete with a local club. They study at Agora Sant Cugat International School, an IB World School. They live at Alba Viu or Garbí. In Dubai, athletes compete as the B1 team in the Dubai Academy League. They study with Minerva School, online. They live at Yugo Dubailand.

How does competition work?

In Barcelona, B1 places every SPRINT athlete with a local club. B1 cannot field its own team in the city. The club is pre-assigned during admission, together with the residence. Athletes train with the club two to three times a week. They play an official match with it every week.

In Dubai, B1 has its own team. It competes in the Dubai Academy League. SPRINT athletes train and compete as the B1 team. They play an official league match every week.

What are the SPRINT formats, and how do they differ?

SPRINT has four formats. SPRINT 360 includes training, residence and academics. SPRINT BOARDING adds residence services to training. SPRINT ACADEMICS adds academic services to training, without residence. SPRINT TRAINING covers training, competition and athlete support. Every format includes the full B1 methodology.

How much does SPRINT cost?

SPRINT tuition starts at €12,330 per season, for SPRINT TRAINING in 2026–2027. SPRINT ACADEMICS is €25,400, SPRINT BOARDING €26,890 and SPRINT 360 €35,690 per season. Fees outside tuition: enrollment fee €400, health insurance €600 (or your own policy), program deposit €900 (refundable), a legal tutor €350 if required, and a new student fee of €2,500 for SPRINT 360 and SPRINT ACADEMICS. Pay in full or in 4 installments: the enrollment fee first, installment 1 (about 30%) after visa approval, then installments 2–4 between the 25th and 30th of January, February and March.

How do SPRINT athletes keep up with school?

The academic program is taught in English. Athletes get weekly academic support adapted to their training schedule. In Barcelona, Agora Sant Cugat International School offers the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme and Diploma. For athletes aged 16 and over, Barcelona also offers a language school (Spanish and Catalan), coaching courses, university access programs and other educational programs. In Dubai, athletes study with Minerva School online. Academic services are part of SPRINT 360 and SPRINT ACADEMICS.

Where do SPRINT athletes live, and who supervises them?

Boarding athletes live in B1’s residences: Alba Viu or Garbí in Barcelona, Yugo Dubailand in Dubai. Each athlete has a private room with bathroom. All meals are included. Supervision and support run 24/7. In Spain, athletes under 18 who do not live with a parent need a legal guardian. Families can name one or use the B1 Legal Guardian Service.

What does a typical SPRINT week include?

In Barcelona, a typical week has five B1 high-performance sessions. It adds two strength and conditioning sessions, plus gym sessions. Athletes train two to three times with their club. They play one official match with it. Video analysis and scheduled physiotherapy run alongside. Sport psychology takes place every two weeks. Nutrition follow-up, masterclasses and a performance report come every month.

In Dubai, a typical week has five B1 high-performance sessions, as the B1 team. It adds two strength and conditioning sessions, plus gym sessions. The team plays one official match in the Dubai Academy League. Video analysis and scheduled physiotherapy run alongside. Sport psychology takes place every two weeks. Nutrition follow-up, masterclasses and a performance report come every month.

How do I apply to SPRINT, and what happens next?

Send the application form on this page. It has three short steps. The B1 admissions team then contacts you. Once the admission file is open, B1 reviews the athlete’s documents. Families then receive a Conditional Acceptance and Pre-Allocation Letter. Enrollment is confirmed with the first program payment. Athletes aged 12–18 can also start with TRIAL, a six-day evaluation that ends with a program proposal.

Does B1 help with the student visa?

Yes. After reviewing the athlete’s documents, B1 issues a Conditional Acceptance and Pre-Allocation Letter. Families can use it for visa procedures and travel preparation. The letter does not secure a residence place. It does not confirm enrollment either. Before arrival, every athlete needs valid medical insurance. A medical certificate for high-performance training is also required, with relevant medical history.
